Spaghetti Sauce Cooked with a Twist

by Nhil on December 27, 2009

I know that spaghetti sauce is meant for the long (spaghetti) pasta.

But tonight, I cooked it with a twist.

Spaghetti Sauce Topped on Rice, not Pasta (this time)

When hubby asked me to cook his favorite ground pork with tomato sauce, we just found out that we don’t have any tomato sauce in stock.

I could’ve run to my parent’s house to buy a can (since we have a mini convenience store) but he just asked me to use a spaghetti sauce instead.

Well, I find it odd but I just did what he wanted. So I chopped garlic, onion and cleaned the ground pork. After that I reached the pouch of spaghetti sauce and diced the quickmelt cheese.

What I did was to saute the chopped onion, garlic and the ground pork. After the ground pork went a little brown, I poured in the spaghetti sauce and the diced cheese. Then I added half a glass of water and let it simmer. :)

So that was it. After I served it to hubby he immediately cleaned his plate hehe, well it means that he liked it very much. But as for me, I only ate a little because I just can’t imagine topping my white rice with ’spaghetti sauce’, I still want it with the usual long pasta.

How about you? Have you tried that twist or was there ever a time when you experimented something odd with your recipes?
