Sony Cybershot DSC-W180 for The Chef’s Daughter

I bought this Sony Cybershot DSC-W180 (the silver one) as a sort of tech gadget gift for myself before hubby and I got married last December 2009. This serves as a replacement as well for my Canon Digicam that got lost when Typhoon Ondoy struck last year.

This is the one that I have been using lately to snap shots of everything that I find worth taking. Be it food, nature, people and places. The thing with me using this is that I am just a point and shoot person. Well, I learned photography basics when I was in college but eventually, I just loved to be carefree enough in my shots and not worry on too much details about it. But of course, if time permits, then I would love to learn more about digital photography this time.

Update on My Husband’s Condition

If you have been following my posts lately, you would notice how I beg off from blogging a few days ago because my husband suffered from kidney stone related pain.

I am so happy that it is not something that I was scared of because he used to tell me that some of his friends needed a joint pain relief. But nonetheless, he still needed help so we went back to the hospital for more than a week to perform series of tests, and when we finally get the result, it was confirmed that the problem was on his kidney stones.

Aside from the usual medicines he took, I also asked him to tell me if we need to have his joints checked, good thing that was out of the story. Now, he is trying his best to at least improve on his condition by eating properly, getting some exercise and live healthier this time.

Off Time from Blogging Today

Just had some little time of from blogging today.

It was unexpected though, because my husband complained of severe pain and can’t even stand up. Of course, as a wife, I have to take care of him and attend to his needs. I will give you an update of what went wrong with him later on, well, not to really let it out, but to also give some reminders to you should you or your partner experienced the same discomfort he had.

Woohoo! I love blogging!

Not only that I can express myself freely online, I also get to share my two cents with the rest of the world. Isn’t that sweet?

Now, if you want to make it sweeter, how about you earning from your blogging passion? Yes, we are also talking business here. If you want to earn online from blogging, there are a lot of ways to do so. But I suggest that you still maintain your true voice. There are some instances that a blogger may deviate from expressing his true self because he is afraid not to please people.

Just remember to keep your views tasteful and exercise tact, even if you feel like expressing yourself strongly. Because at the end of the day, no amount of money can buy your freedom to express yourself.

Server Unavailable

I was trying to access a website to check some of my messages and read some of my saved articles. I have been trying to log in since 11PM to no avail. But all of my attempts are unsuccessful.

Today, seeing the message server unavailable can also spell huge disaster in an online business, don’t you agree? I always see the credibility of the site that does online business if they always have that message on your screen whenever someone visits the site.

Oh well, I don’t want to mention the name yet but if this persists for days then I might mention that site and ask if the rest have experienced the same problem.

Approved Six Entrecard Ads Today

I have never been happier after the SmartBro contractors came here this morning.

Well, because these guys helped bring the connection back, thus, I’m updating this blog. And oh, by the way, I just approved six new entrecard ads so that makes it worth (almost) a week’s ad. Great!

Anyway, since I have been very busy these past few weeks, allow me to gently bring this blog back to life. Yes, I have some post ideas on the pipeline, food and non-food related alike. This time, I’ll make it a point to really breathe life to this blog.

Wants to Crush Spammers

Can you allow me to rant today?

Well, I just can’t help but to be disappointed with other people who doesn’t know anything about basic online courtesy. If you were a blogger like me for sometime now, I’m sure that you also felt this once, being spammed is not something to be ignored if you value your online contribution.

It seems that spammers are really growing in numbers and that this isn’t a good news. Just today, I’ve found out that there are some who spams my sites are those who only hides through different domains but has one IP address. They did something to crash different anti-spam plugins that I have on some of my blogs (well, just trying to imagine) because they can still post their spam comments even with the presence of Akismet and other anti-spam stuff in my blog.

Do you also find it annoying when spammers love to spread spam comments in your blog? How do you get rid of them?

Thank You Blogging!

I wanted to say thank you to blogging for I have been blessed with a lot of online / offline opportunities since I started to grow my blogs since March 2008.

I was able to practice more of my writing and networking skills to update and promote my blog posts. Aside from that I was able to reach out to former friends and forge new ones virtually.

I may not completely give you all the details that blogging has helped me be a better person. That’s why I really love blogging.

So for this year 2010, I will do my best to be a responsible blogger that bloggerworld will definitely love. A blogger that earns but is respectful of my audience, respects other bloggers and reaches out to other bloggers and values virtual interaction.

Visited 237 Foodie Blogs Today

I am proud to say that I devoted a lot of time to further promote this blog today.

And I did this in two ways:

Entrecard

I visited 237 foodie related blogs today through Entrecard. I like it this way because it enables me to expose my blog per category. In the same way that I wanted to discover other related blogs that I can surely relate my posts into. Using the Entrecard service is free but if you want to go ahead and further promote your blog to this large network of blogs then you have to ‘virtually’ pay (using credits) for you to get your blog up on the widget of other member blogs.

As for the advertisement part, I did advertise to a number of blogs right after I hopped from one foodie blog to another. My main considerations are the the Entrecard Credit Rate and the length of waiting time for my ad to appear.

Blog Commenting

I haven’t done this for long, I mean to be very religious on placing comment on other people’s blogs because I really had a lot on my plate these past few months. But of course I am still thankful that times like these get in the way of my busy schedule, thus me having time to do the rounds, give a comment or two and appreciate their effort to share the cooking details online.

I hope to do this again… soon

Although I have been promoting this blog non-stop, I still hope to improve on my blogging schedule and continously market this blog to the rest of the food and beverage bloggers so we can create a good community that will share best practices when it comes to preparing your everyday dining experience.
