I just watched The Pursuit of Happyness and I was so touched on how Will Smith’s character went on roller coaster. He did his best to get what he want and he wanted it so hard that nothing can stop him from doing so.

Then I have found out that there’s this video compilation of his wisdom mentioned in his interviews. Check it out and let me know what part of it best affects you as a person

Update on My Husband’s Condition

If you have been following my posts lately, you would notice how I beg off from blogging a few days ago because my husband suffered from kidney stone related pain.

I am so happy that it is not something that I was scared of because he used to tell me that some of his friends needed a joint pain relief. But nonetheless, he still needed help so we went back to the hospital for more than a week to perform series of tests, and when we finally get the result, it was confirmed that the problem was on his kidney stones.

Aside from the usual medicines he took, I also asked him to tell me if we need to have his joints checked, good thing that was out of the story. Now, he is trying his best to at least improve on his condition by eating properly, getting some exercise and live healthier this time.

I’m watching The Pursuit of Happyness trailer here in Youtube and will follow it up later by watching (hopefully) the whole film.

I have heard a lot of reviews that this is a very inspiring movie, unfortunately I missed watching this before so I am trying my luck this time.

Will Cook Pochero for Husband Tonight

I will definitely cook this yummy Pochero recipe for my husband.

But I would have to use pork instead of beef since I haven’t gotten back to the grocery after a week. So I will just make use of what I have here.

Of course, just like any other tomato sauce inspired recipe, this will be another great chance to appeal to my husband’s stomach and definitely make him fall in love with me all the more.

Lago del Rey CamSur Dream Vacation

When I read Sis Mauie’s Lago del Rey experience, I suddenly planned on going there before the year ends. Maybe we can tweak a bit on our venue for our honeymoon.

Why did I fall in love with the place? Well, aside from the truth that I am a true blooded Bicolana by birth, I also wanted for my husband- to- be and I to have another way to spend time together.

We already invaded Sumaguing Cave, went to the cold Tagaytay and spent some relaxing time in Cebu.

In case this CamSur adventure will push through, this will be the first time for us to finally ‘test the waters‘

I am so excited. Have you been to Lago del Rey CamSur lately? Please share your experience when you went there.

Hoax on Former President Cory Aquino's Death Report

Have you heard about the hoax circulating Former President Corazon Aquino has already died?

Supporters are still trying to tie a yellow ribbon in support for Cory Aquino’s speedy recovery so news circulating that the Former President is dead should stop.

I just find it very insensitive when other people are trying to mix up everything that they get from all sources and trying to make some news out of it. It is just so plain irresponsible that people are starting to pick it up and spread the word around because the ‘news’ started to spread like wildfire.

After I scanned both news, I felt bad for the Aquino family. I know that everyone wanted to know every development on her condition but it will also make matters worse for them because a lot also has been trying to take advantage of the situation.

Please do not believe every detail that you will get just because you wanted to get the ‘scoop’. If you haven’t confirmed the information from their authorized representative, better stop speculating because you are just hurting the family’s feelings in the process. Let us respect their privacy and let them be the ones to provide us information as soon as they have time to do so.

PDEA Agent's Daughter Drugged, Raped or What?

Yesterday, I heard about the PDEA (Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency) Agent’s daughter that was allegedly drugged and raped by members of a certain syndicate.

I was alarmed with the news because this does not only warns us that these things can happen in real life (as some told me that it was like a scene in an action flick) but also a reminder that these bad guys can really do everything worse when provoked.

I tuned in to the news on TV, waited for some updates while I am updating my blogs. Still the same thing featured in the next few hours, same headline was given so I thought, this is for real.

Then the bomb came last night as I watched TV Patrol World. The latest development on the case was that there was no drug or rape case in the first place because that didn’t happen. Then they rolled out the news clip informing the viewers that according to the sworn statements of five minor teens (all guys), they allegedly invited the teenage girl to have some chill time and was unable to go back home after few hours after she got drunk.

To cut the long story short, there was nothing to be bothered about. Just a ‘simple’ case of minors that had a great time, without giving regard to the consequences of doing such.

I’m sorry to say this but I really feel that this should not happen again. I mean, a lot of people were alarmed and bothered, especially the parents who are known to be that protective of their children.

Now that this ‘development’ has been aired, would you think that this will lessen the threat that the parents are feeling of the environment their children are all in?

I know this is somewhat a case of chicken and egg question. Which comes first, for the parents to really impose some rules for their kid’s safety, or for these kids/ teens to practice self discipline in their dealings with other people?

Who was to blame? I don’t know with them. But what I am sure of is that it would have been better next time if these young boys and girls will impose a kind of self discipline among themselves so they won’t drag themselves in these kinds of trouble.

Inconsiderate Neighbors

Have you had one in your area?

Today I got another dose of little sleep time because of some insensitive neighbors around.

One of our neighbors in the block is celebrating his birthday and I guess he is singing it with a ‘bang’.

Why singing? Let’s put it this way, I came home from my shift around 10 in the morning and he was singing in full volume using a rented videoke machine.

Well I didn’t care much about it until I realized that I can’t sleep. I locked our front door, went upstairs, tried to lock myself in my room, then in my parent’s and last in my sister’s room, but I can still hear not only his voice but his other relatives belting something out. I cannot stand it.

Then I sprayed some relaxing mist in my room, in the beddings but it did not help me relax and put myself to sleep.

Even the milk strategy and earplugs did not work. Goodness!

I already told Mom about it, but I’m not sure if they approached our neighbors about it, but they kept on singing until I left the house around 9:30 in the evening.

I am a very sensitive neighbor. I respect the space and privacy of other people especially when they need to have some rest. Even if I need to adjust and let go of some stuff that I want to do, I’d consider first the welfare of our neighbors before I do it.

I just cannot understand why they can’t do it this time.

Mom's Moments with Me

I already greeted my Mom this morning but today, I want to make this short post about my Mom and why I am grateful for her love.

When I was a little girl, I came to know my Mom as a disciplinarian. She would always remind me to act appropriately, give courtesy to others and just be a good girl all the time. At that time, it seemed that she single-handedly did everything for me, as my chef dad is always away for overseas work.

I even remembered how she would ask me to sing and talk to my Dad as she held the radio close to me to record my voice. So whenever we had those recording sessions, I would have to stop playing and do it. Only when we’re through that I will be allowed to play with the other kids again.

When it comes to budgeting, she has her own way to do it. She would prefer to allocate just good enough budget for food to keep us healthy, but she would always tell us not to leave food on the plate (literally). She would always remind us to only eat what we can consume and not to waste food because it can also mean wasting my Dad’s time and effort in his work.

And that is something that I am doing until now, something that I can pass on to my kids as soon as I have one. Aside from that she would always impose for us to take care of our things so we don’t need to buy one, talk about being frugal.

We had our misunderstandings over things especially as I grow older, but that’s normal. I will tell you more of my Mom in my next few posts, but for now, I would like to share with you how thankful I am that I have my Mom with me.
